As others have said, and also on the West Ham forum
"What could be worse than Mike Dean...???

Mike Dean with VAR... "

So the only team that likes Dean is Spurs.

Generally I dont mind West Ham, its just Karren Brady who constantly moans about, well everything, including how they are being hard done by the deal they have at the "London Stadium" (the least thought gone into a stadium name)

Anyway 3-1 to us.  :D

It's a duty of mine to call out inaccuracies.
Mike Dean's failure to award a penalty for Tottenham v Newcastle says otherwise to this comment I've highlighted.
Kane v Laschelles
So the spurs thing isn't really a thing mate.

I would like to see a slight change in the way we set up. 4-2-3-1 would suit what we have at the moment:

                    Heaton
Guilbert  Engels    Mings   Taylor

           Luiz   Hourihane

  Jota      Grealish       McGinn

             Wesley

Think we need to support the likes of Luiz in front of our defence

Tempted to go

                            Heaton

Guilbert         Engels       Mings       Taylor

                   Luiz              Hourihane

Jota                     McGinn                 Jack

                           Wesley

subs

Steer
Konsa
Hause
Marvellous (if we need to close game down)
AEG  (If we need to open them up wide)
Trez                       "
Davis

Excellent choice, squire

But isn't Trez suspended and Jota not very good?

When did the man of the match from our last home game become "not very good"?

In the absence of Trez then I would add Lansbury into the sqaud

A few days after the first game of the season I had a dream about this game.

I rarely dream about Villa and it's even rarer that I dream about a scoreline.

But in my dream Villa beat West Ham 4-2 and McGinn scored one of the goals.

So I now have separate bets on McGinn and the exact score.

Do me proud lads!

A lad at work dreamt that we beat Spurs 1-0, McGinn scoring...  :'(

Don't know if it's been mentioned but let's not forget to tell Ryan Fredericks we haven't forgotten what he did at Wembley

That West Ham front 3 will take some stopping
Yarmolenko Haller Anderson and whichever full back Villa play will be difficult task if our own wide forward don't support them. I seeing plenty of goal chances in this match for both teams

Mike Dean must afford our Villa players protection
That average footballer, Mr West Ham Noble will be trying on all sorts in that midfield. And along with Rice will be the likely midfield enforcers.
Mike Dean can do an extra favor by sending off one of theirs.
Prediction : Rice and Noble will foul and warrant being carded. Mike Dean must book these players and give no leniency

Let's hope Rice continues his England form -which was basic !
As Charlie Nicolas puts it
"People are far too excited about Declan Rice, with lots of mistakes and clumsiness there, as is the predictability with West Ham."

Added spice is that wally full back Fryers is playing so those there should give him stark reminders of his disgusting play and foul on Grealish in the play off final v Fulham.

Allez Allez Allez

I hope the crowd are up for it again tonight. The players really need them as they go through this adaption phase. West Ham are on a very decent run but so were Everton. FTF.

Grealish to score first and Fredericks to be sent off 150/1

Small chance of a goal less draw.
West Ham have a front 3 who are attacking. On their day Anderson Haller and Yarmolenko with Lanzini are up there for scoring at any given moment
Funny the defence is the same - concede chances at any given opportunity which is a good hope for us as I don't see West ham and Haller in particular scoring at least twice. Yarmolenko has the beating of Taylor all night long.
May be one of those 4-3 type matches !
Hold on because tonight match has all the ingredients to be one of those premier league classics.

I hope West Ham are typically inconsistent as they seem to have started the season well.  I'd be happy with a point to be honest.  I hope that Nakamba starts alongside Douglas too.

I don't agree with the "happy with a point" view to be honest.  If a draw is the best we can hope for at home to West Ham, we might as well slink back down to the Championship now to be honest.  I'm not saying that they're a bad team or that it won't be a tough game, but outside of the established top 6, we should be thinking we can beat everybody else at home.

I agree. To stay up, we'll need to be winning our home games, in the main regardless of opposition.

West Ham can go joint 2nd!! Villa currently sit jn relegation zone. The realism says West Ham attack is to good. The optimist says this is our time for players to perform.
It's a good , but early, indication to where we are in the result at home to west ham.
We had the disappointment of Bournemouth and the ecstacy if Everton.
Dean Smith and the players know what levels they have to be at tonight.
The question is have we the quality , up to January , particularly with the strike force to offer a goal threat and go and win matches.
