Hopefully Targett isn’t badly hurt but yes job done. Not perfect despite the scoreline but with essentially a completely different back 5 and midfield it was to be expected I suppose.

Compare this to the years of dirge under Lambert and Bruce.  Such a relief.

Routine day at the office these days. As someone mentioned on the match thread, if Lambert was in charge we'd probably have blown it and he'd be mumbling something about excellent and we go again. Happy days

Seems like a professional job done. Good that a few got a run out. So happy that Davis got his goal, could be an important player for us this season.

On a night where Norwich are going out to Crawley, quite.

Why was Jack wearing a concealed shoulder holster?

Decent performance without anyone standing out as needing to come into the team in the league.

Davis motm for me, thought he held play up brilliantly, took his goal well and deserved an assist for a lovely bit of play to put AEG one-on-one.

Marv looks good but a bit short of fitness, Konsa and Hause played ok but clearly need to get used to each other, Guilbert was class and Jack was miles above anyone else on the pitch in terms of quality.

Nice to rack up the goals.  Performances are difficult to judge bearing in mind the quality of opposition but Guilbert stood out, Davis did well and that'll hopefully give Jack a bit of confidence.  I think for Marvellous it was more of a fitness excercise so I'll reserve judgement.

Why was Jack wearing a concealed shoulder holster?

We have a squad.
Finally a squad of players who are capable of stepping up and being professional and able.

I’m calling it now. I am going to fall in love with marvelous.
He was superb and I am completely convinced he had a 100% pass completion rate...I didn’t see he give the ball away once.

Well done lads.

Great job, well done, My wife was saying it was only Crewe but there was a time when we could have lost this game.

Needed Jack to come on to be really sure of victory.
