Aston Villa vs Everton Pre-Match Thread
« on: August 19, 2019, 09:43:33 AM »
Villa Park, Friday 23rd August 2019, 8pm

I'm flying in for this one with the Perpignan Villans and the South Burgundy Villans.

So that will be my mate and me, as far as I know.

I expect to see a 3-1 win with our goals coming from Wesley, McGinn and Mings.

My Everton mate's coming over from the IOM for it as well, and I too hope to see a 3-1 win, with goals from Wesley, Wesley and Wesley.

unlike in exile I have a small smattering of mates.

no chance of making this due to work commitments and having to collect wife from a drunken night out with her work colleagues

Hopefully a Villa win, but I have a horrible feeling we go down 0-1, and off to Crystal Palace looking for win

Surely the intended 'continuity' effect of playing Taylor and Elmo as full backs has lapsed now? Expect to see Fred and Targett pushing forward on either side. It means Mingles and Doug will need to cover all breaks in the centre; I hope they can.

Last chance for the Trez/Wes/AEG front 3 to prove they should remain first choice. Not the last chance for Jack and SJM in midfield but it needs to start working now.

Any sort of Villa win against a good side would be welcome.

Trouble is, I can't really see who you replace them with.  Jota hasn't impressed me one little bit in his sub appearances, and Davis isn't ready to be our number one striker.  Those three basically pick themselves.

I am also expecting a 3-1 win however I am not expecting my mates to be with me as they are all t***s and don’t support the Villa.

I don't expect to spend £20m on fullbacks and keep seeing Elmo and Taylor in the team. If they aren't better than those two then we are in trouble.

Goals from Wesley, Grealish, Luiz, McGinn and Heaton whould make up for the shite they've served up thus far and stop them being dropped.

Id like to see conor in the team some how for his set pieces and the chance of a goal from him , obviously playing Luis still.

And can we get our new full backs in , one thing I was impressed with Guilbert he gets right up to the by line and his crossing/passing is great , seem to link well with Hotta too.

Id drop EGZ

1-0  off wes's arse

2-0 (Daley, Platt)  - like last time we came back up.

If we can be tight at the back then 0-0 might be a good shout with their defence.  If we get a break and win 1-0 that would be amazing.
