Changes for me tonight.
Start Trez on the left.
Drop El Ghazi and replace him with Elmo.
Bring in Freddy to play behind Elmo.

I also hope we get to see marvellous on the bench.

Playing Elmo on right wing for a home game is the kind of change Bruce would get dogs abuse for

I'd be really worried with Smith if there is no change at full back tonight, even one of them. As others have said there is no consistency in the likes of Heaton, Trez and Luiz walking into the team with very limited pre season action but Guilbert and Targett being left out.

Quote of the day on the Everton forum - "Villa would love to be Everton. We are their white whale." Hahahaha hahaha. How self obsessed!
He sounds like a right "Moby Dick"

Referee: Michael Oliver
Fourth official: Graham Scott
VAR: Chris Kavanagh

Just over 7 years ago Oliver was ref of a 1-3 home defeat to Everton
Ciran Clark was sent off.

Last time he ref us in premier league 4-0 defeat to Everton.

He was the ref v Liverpool in the epic semi final win in 2015

Overall he as officiated 19 matches
Has sent off 1 villa player , Clark,  and 2 opponents in those matches
We have won 5 drawn 5 lost 9

This season:
Oliver has whistled for 36 fouls in 2 matches .
18 a match .
Has shown a bias towards home teams so far in giving more free kicks to home team .
That comes from ref in Liverpool norwich and last week with Man City v Spurs.

Everton:
In 34 matches of Everton he has
Sent off 1 Everton player and  4 opponents Everton Have a W13 D13 L8 record when he's been ref

Last season :
9 penalities in 30 matches
3rd most awarded
