I know Xia played a large part by getting us into the mess we were in, but there needs to a modicum of credit that goes to him in finding our current owners. You donít just stumble upon those connections. He must have known them or of them and then was able to sell the potential of Villa despite the desperate state we were in to NSWE. Because very easily we could be where Bolton is today which is nothing short of a complete disaster.

Nope Iím not buying it. The whole executive team including Xia are culpable for our football club being reportedly 48 hours from going into administration. This is Aston Villa for fucks sake not some tuppeny halfpenny League 2 stalwart where the Manager helps paint the stadium.

The fact the man is still a shareholder seems to be protecting him from any criticism at the moment, but if he does eventually get bought out he should be run out of town for his profligate, naive and negligent ownership. Heís on a par with Lerner for me, completely reliant on his executives for decision making which left us in the hands of that snake Wyness who saw an opportunity to make himself a few quid trying to engineer a fire sale of the club and itís assets to his dodgy mates.

Xia knew nothing of NSWE, like all good businessmen they saw an opportunity to purchase a blue chip asset at a distressed price and moved, Xia and Wyness had nothing to do with it.

It does beg the question though, why havenít NSWE bought him out yet? Are they just biding their time, or do they actually have a use for Xia and the wealth (if he has any?) he can access. Iím of the opinion theyíll buy him out in due course but there is a thought that Xia maybe has his uses to NSWE.

The one thing that struck me when we played Bolton. The ground was half empty. Why didn't they say to us how many tickets do you want. 8 to 10k great no probs.

Because they were struggling for the Police costs as it was.

The game was only confirmed a few days in advance so probably didn't have time to shift that many tickets anyway.

Spot on nothing to do with Xia, they decided to approach him after watching a WC game together, they have control and the share structure allows Xia to save face.

Bolton managed to play their game yesterday by fielding their reserves/youth players at home to Coventry, average age of their side was 19. They've sold no season tickets as they've not put them up for sale, and the only day that tickets could be bought for the Cov game was Friday, no pay on the day yesterday.

It's insane that with the amount of money swilling round the Premier League, there's not something in place to help these clubs.  Thinking a not-for-profit who can do a compulsory purchase, own 100% of the shares and can slowly sell the club back to supporter's trusts as they raise the money to buy their club back.

Problem is, as nice an idea as that is, if there was an X fund that saved Bury and other clubs, then Walsall, for example, could spend money they don't have and think "no worries, if it all goes tits up then the X fund will save the club". As soon as there's a safety net then you just know some clubs would abuse it.
