Surely you can’t drop Heaton after one fuck up? He’d never recover.

It cost more than 3 points, it caused a huge set back. Momentum is important.
You're just being completely melodramatic.  Get a fucking grip.

It was a stupid error. I very much doubt it will be repeated.

We really can't afford to keep making them, two in 10 minutes in this division will be punished; unless you play Newcastle.

He's a great keeper and as with all of our players they need support not lambasting.

He's our No.1 now and needs to stay there.

Yep, I'm very much with you on this one. He was brilliant in pre-season and made some top class saves against Spurs. I don't see the same comments in dropping Douglas which was a huge clanger as well. Like the skipper has said, iron them out now and we'll be absolutely fine.

Agreed, still a very good keeper indeed, but I do agree with John E, in that it was THE very worst thing that could possibly happen in our first game back at home.  It took the wind out of everbody's sails completely.

I don't think he should be dropped after one bad mistake, but you could argue that Steer has been dropped after not having done anything wrong.

It was an absolute clanger, and did have an effect. However, I think it only had the effect it did because of what happened just a few minutes later.

Any other player making the same challenge elsewhere on the pitch and it would have been a nothing thing. I just don't think with his experience he'll do it again.

Steer hasn't done anything wrong, but then he's just not as good.

I think the player was quite crafty, he lured that foul out of him and Heaton should have known better.  I think he got lost in the moment of his home debut in front of the Holte and just wanting to make sure he didn't look a dick... ah well!

As one of the loudest advocates for signing Heaton in preseason over Butland... It was a shocking error, the likes of which I've not seen him commit before. But he was excellent v Spurs. I'm hoping it was one of those "once in career" goalkeeping howlers. Expect more from him and frankly the whole defence tonight. They shouldn't have been able to carve us open so quickly, we were caught out by a clever pass even if their lad was off on a journey to nowhere when fouled.

I see Buckland was dropped today after conceding 10 goals from just 14 on target against him this season. Could be his head is all over the place or he is not as good as everybody thinks he is, either way it looks like we made the right move

And they conceded 3 goals anyway.

Suggests it might not be entirely Butland's fault.

Tom's in the England squad as expected, when was the time we had two players in the set up?  I'm guessing the Young/Milner/Barry days.

I'd imagine it was 2010/11 with Downing and Young, possibly Bent as well. Can't remember who got caps in what games.
