He looked promising, very good at breaking up play, not so great with the more ambitious stuff.

I like him too. Like a understated player like Gueye .  Was a good debut.  Id liek to see him with Luis with Jack further . 4 2 3 1

Naughty but nice. Deserves another chance.

Looked like a poor man's version of Vierra. Not a bad comparison though.  Decent performance.

He did ok. Gave the ball away a couple of times early on which is always going to happen on your debut but settled after that and kept it simple when he had too. Encouraging.

We seem more fluid with him playing that role

Team him up with Luiz and I think we'll have two excellent CM players to give the platform for McGinn and Grealish to get more advanced in support of a hard-working but currently-undersupported Wesley.

Aside from the odd misplaced pass in the first half, thought he had a really promising debut. He provides more of a physical presence than Luiz and could do well for us.

I agree.  He was neat and tidy without being hugely creative.  Covered the ground well and likes a tackle.  Hopefully, much more to come from him. I thought he was better than Douglas but would like to see them play together.

Very good debut, fitted into the system really well. More to come I think

Didn't see the game last night but really pleased with what i'm reading here - sounds like he did well and that's great. Plenty of games to go so let's see how he impresses from here.

Lost possession a few times but regained it without resorting to lunging in ....looked strong and assured ...good debut.

I thought he was like Reo-Coker. Grafted hard to win the ball to pass it to the opposition.

I thought there were a number of challenges where he'd concede a free-kick but his timing was spot-on. He's just the sort of player that a good side needs. Gueye and Kante like in my view.

Yep, time for some flexibility. Drop one of the wingers and let Jack/SGM drift out wide as needed
