We’re not playing for survival. I can tell you Dean Smith and Purslow have no desire to be involved in that. This isn’t a Steve Bruce club full of excuses or the one that pathetically came down. We will compete for the top half of the table and finish somewhere in the middle. Fuck this relegation talk bollocks. No way we will be worse than Newcastle, Brighton, Sheff U, Norwich, Bournemouth, Burnley, Southampton. After that it’s a little tougher in mid table mini league.

It will be great when he tells 2nd placed Man City to get fucked in 2 years because he's staying with the champions, Aston Villa.

If they have a but back thing that wont happen. What I am concerned about is the coming season and will he help to keep us up

If they have the buy back thing he's still got to agree to move,  and why would you leave the champions that have just won their last 38 games?

So Douglas is back in Rio according to VT? Hopefully just awaiting his work permit to be confirmed. Need him at BMH asap to integrate with the rest of the squad. Next, get Maupay in!

You cant be in the country you're applying for your work permit for. It's like doing 12 months in Aus  you have to nip to New Zeland to apply to extend it.

Couldn't Luiz go to the Embassy of Brazil in London or the Consulate of Brazil in Manchester for a work permit? Havn't a clue myself but just thinking he could save on the air fare!!

It’s not the Brazilian authority who will grant a work permit it’s the British Home Office.

But he'd be out of the country, in a Julian Assange kinda way.

"On foreign soil" is the term you're looking for, I think.

He will need a business visa which would be granted based on the work permit. The visa would have to be done outside UK.  As it is very clear that his intention of entering the UK is for work, he couldn't come on a tourist visa and then change.
