It’s funny.  Many Man City fans were claiming that he played well and were speculating on when they would bring him back.  DL got far more praise off them than Jack did.  Then again, many also claimed we parked the bus.

Has had a decent run of starts now but hasn't impressed at all. Clearly talented when given the ball but fitness and attitude seem miles off the required level to me so far. Thoughts?

Needs to add more energy to his game. He played one superb pass today that put Trez away, but he isn’t involved enough. Clearly has talent, but needs to be much more dominant and demand the ball.

‘Hasn’t impressed at all’ is a bit harsh! Especially considering two of the game were against teams that are miles ahead of us. I actually thought his work rate and defensive application were decent in those two games.

He will need a bit of time, after all, he has not long turned twenty one and has only started about five games for a new team in a new league, but I think he a show enough quality in glimpses to think that there is a real player in there.

He can play football, but is never a defensive midfielder in a million years. Would thrive in the right set up but don’t think that’s us at the moment.

Yeah. We’ve got a lot of players who can do a job in the middle but there’s so much overlap between them. No width, no real pace and with the possible exception of Marvelous nobody who can do something approximating that essential whelan job.

I thought at least Doug was a really reliable tidy passer, but he’s been guilty of few stay balls lately.

We should have been going all out to get players who can really unlock the best of JG and SJM. We actually have a lot of poor man’s versions of them.
