Ireland aren't great are they?

That said, this game has a 'next goal the winner' feel about it.

And unfortunately Denmark have just got it.

SJM equalises for Scotland against Kazakhstan. Not much atmosphere and not many people at Hampden by the looks and sounds of it.

SJM scores again. 7 goals in his last 5 Scotland starts. Easily Scotland's best player.

I'm 24th best, and I'm not:

1. A footballer.
2. Scottish.

24 more goals and he's Scotland's all time top goal scorer.

Now has as many as Andy Gray got in ten years.

Congratulations to Wales for qualifying for Euro 2020 and congratulations to Ryan Giggs for managing to turn up for all the games.

Alan Harper was a scouser and a team mate of Gray's at Everton. He was a full back. Were you thinking of Joe Harper?

Conor Hourihane first man off for Ireland v Denmark (for former Villian Callum Robinson). Very harsh substitution for me, thought Hourihane was the most likely source for a goal at the time. Jeff Hendrick was having another nightmare in a green jersey at the time and should have been first man off. McCarthy clearly not convinced by Hourihane, has been hooked quite a few times now. He lost possession in a dangerous spot a few mins before and I think that was the trigger for the sub.

Same as always for Hourihane, set pieces very dangerous and tidy on ball when given time and space (Danes retreated and played for a draw from very early on). First 20mins or so when the Danes were pressing high, he was a complete passenger. Glenn Whelan (36 in Jan) showed a lot more courage in that time to get us playing.

Other former Villains, Clark (came on at half time and did fine in his first appearance for a while), Enda Stevens was probably our best player and got the assist for the equaliser. Robbo had little impact really but best off left wing where he pinged in one decent cross late on.
