One of my brothers lives in Helsinki, he said it was like Finland had won the World Cup last night.
I didn't realise its their first major tournament.

As a man who has visited Helsinki if I lived there permanently I'd feel like I'd won the lottery.

Still not as impressive as them breaking the world record for most nationalities in a sauna.

Cyprus ripping Scotland a new one. Luckily no goal line technology.

Hadn't realised that Michael O'Neill was still managing Northern Ireland for their remaining qualifiers, including their playoff game(s). Not sure I'd be too happy about that if I was a Stokie.

Cyprus have equalised just when I thought it was sort of game where Scotland have a slight chance of winning.

Wales: a decent side, and young Ampadu has the makings of a good defensive midfielder, but I cant help thinking hed be a tad quicker to the ball if he didnt have a dead dog strapped to his bonce. I say this as a lover of long hair (Id give anything to have it back) and locks, but I feel hes got a bit to far (not to mention the animal rights issues).

Well aint no stopping Altidore MLS prowess
I couldn't resist !
Maybe he has his levels now however his sort of qualities are what's needed !

Even at his very best hes not close to being a PL footballer. But Id make the argument having watched him up close that in the Championship hed have done very well. Not as good as Tammy, very different types of player, but hes of that level when fully fit. Hes just not very fit anymore. Missed a lot of games. And Ill make the argument all day that Michael Bradley would have been very good for us if wed stuck with him.

RHM playing for Tranmere against Wycombe today on Sky. Some nice touches and pace so far. 0-0 at the moment.

If you watched the game live you would have been well aware they were aiming for their first major tournament. The commentator never stopped banging on about it. I am still bitter they missed a sitter in injury time to make it 4-0, which is the scoreline I bet on.
