Well, Sterling has missed the chance to fill his boots.

Chilwell has really impressed me tonight, excellent work rate and reading of the game. Definitely one to watch out for next month.

As nice a bloke as he is, Southgate is a coward.

Has been excellent whenever I've seen Leicester this season.   Has a fantastic cross on him and is pretty solid going backwards too.

For years we’ve seen England managers pick the same old faces regardless of form or results. Southgate seems to have intelligently mixed things up so there is genuine competition for places. For instance the game tonight when defenders got an easy easy ride was a good time to bring Stones in again. I suspect we’ll see Mings back on Sunday.

If it was considered an easy ride then surely Mings should have played alongside Stones.

Well, regardless. You can't really criticise when they have won seven-nil. Having won six-nil in their last game.

I'm sure it will be the usual case of England being flat track bullies in the qualifiers, before going on to disappoint massively in the finals.

The "usual case" that has never occurred under Southgate? He has managed England in two tournaments and they've made the semis on each occasion. No reason why they can't win this tournament given that the SF and Final (and at least two-thirds of the Group Stage) are at Wembley.
