Just an observation and not suggestive anything intentionally untoward but not often nowadays that you see an all white starting XI in a top league team but Burnley have managed it.

Their supporters will probably love that.

It's not the first time, L'Equipe accused them a couple of years back of racism but that was strongly denied.

Is that right? There really are some parts of the world I have less than no desire to visit. Burnley just sounds and feels unwelcoming.

Watching Arsenal vs Burnley and neither team is close to how good Spurs looked at times, and certainly not close for the to 3. Both keepers and especially the Arsenal keeper look dreadful. The Arsenal defence hate crosses.

Edit: and there you go. 1-1 Arsenal couldn’t deal with the cross. Poor defending

That was an article by fat bastard football journo who writes for l'Équipe, Vincent Duluq. He mused about the "80% British nationality, all-white first-team squad, with their shaven heads, boxer's noses and wingnut lugs"..."not one black player and managed by a ginger, Sean Dyche" and observed that it is "just as difficult to believe that this came about by design as it is to believe it came about by accident".

Much like the rest of Lancashire.

Lancashire is great, I've lived up here for 20 odd years and the people here are very friendly.

Ha! Lancashire, Yorkshire's ugly cousin.

More seriously, there are some decent places close to Burnley and you're right, the people are friendly, at least I think they were as I had trouble understanding them. Read, Simonstone, Clitheroe were all worth the visit.

"Spanish" football on free to air on ITV4 if anyone is needing a football fix. Bilbao v Barcelona is on now. Hosts have started well but it's nil-nil.

Bilbao won 1-0 thanks to an 89th minute overhead kick from 75-year-old Arduriz.

Meanwhile, Huddersfield lost at home to "doing a" Fulham and sacked their manager within an hour.

I can't be arsed to check but I'm guessing that's the first managerial casualty of the season.

The only game Huddersfield won during his 7 months in charge was against the Bilston Barcelona.

Man City are toying with Spurs, 2-1 up but it may as well be 10.

Fuck all wrong with Lancashire, or Cumbria, for that matter.
