For those with time and money, the train to Leipzig might be an option.
Check out   https://www.seat61.com/Germany.htm#London%20to%20Leipzig%20&%20Dresden%20by%20train

Would definitely be my choice if I was free to go, option of a mini city break in different cities each way, less pollution, the Man in Seat 61 is great.

Must be me, but I can't see any details for Leipzig tickets - is it a simple pay on the gate affair?

Tickets for our pre-season games at Shrewsbury Town and Walsall will go on sale from Monday.

Ticket info for our other two friendly games at Charlton Athletic and RB Leipzig will be released in due course.

Never been a pre season abroad when you couldn’t pay in or got in to free

The ground seems to be roughly the same size as Villa Park so I doubt it'll sell out.

Yep my pals who went to virtually every away game for the last three seasons before we got trendy again, including the overseas friendlies, have missed out because there was no window for people with 25, yes 25 away game history from last season.

That’s what the newbies wanted....

Surely Walsall will give us the stand along the side?

Brum to Belfast then to Berlin then Leipzig or Brum/Prague/Leipzig could be options. I haven't looked myself but some suggestions of going in and out of Poland might be a good shot on cheap flights as well.

To be honest, i think away booking histories should revert to zero at the start of any new season. If they don't how is anybody else ever going to get a chance at a ticket?

Them going on sale to season ticket holders first is one thing, and quite right. But i'm all for a first come first served on away tickets, first to season ticket holders and then to members etc if there are any left.

Not everyone can go to multiple ones a season clearly. But for them to not be able to even go to one because it becomes a closed shop can't be right IMHO. One of the main benefits of getting a season ticket was access to away tickets after all. Not a guarantee you'd get one but a guarantee you'd be in with a first chance as a season ticket holder.

Nobody deserves a god given right to get one for every match. They need spreading about if the demand is there.

I do understand about restarting the clock but I would be pretty pissed off with someone getting Away tickets ahead of me whose interest in following villa regularly has previously been minimal- just an honest viewpoint

I can see that. But surely a booking history should benefit people in terms of only getting tickets in 'that' season not be a rolling benefit.

I disagree. People who followed us away regularly last season to the likes of Brentford and Rotherham on a Tuesday night deserve something for their efforts.
