Gabby, he's only 32.

32? Is that his age or is it how many kids he has?

If we were to add one now for the remainder of the season then I think it would be a left back or a wide player as we still don't get too much from those areas.  Albrighton would be more than useful in this side in the Championship, as would Snodgrass.

Going further back, his lack of pace could be an issue in the modern game, but I think Steve Staunton would be really suited to the modern attacking full-back role.

Milner as backup for McGinn
Benteke as backup for Tammy
Delph to replace Whelan
Albrighton to replace Albert

I don't think Milner would be interested in coming back here just be a backup.

The only one playing now would be Albrighton, particularly in view of the way he was treated.
It would be good for him to have some positive playing memories of his club.

Which ex Aston Villa players would you have back?

If we...... no, when we go up which ex Aston Villa players would you have back?

I want us to bring back players who should never have left..... Daniel Sturridge (he is on a free) Gary Cahill (he is on a free) Marc Albrighton (£5m?) and Barry Bannan (£6m?) Enda Stevens (£4m?)

I honest to God wouldn't want a single one of them back if we got promoted. Why on earth would we look backwards if we get promoted ?

The only ex player i'd think about would be Milner but not really sure what the point would be now we've got the new Milner already in McGinn

Good grief, set your expectations a tad higher if we go up please  ;D

Albrighton and Young.

Milner was an all-action midfielder with us - and that was when he was at his best.  He tends to play a more holding role in the Liverpool side now, or fills in at left back.  Wouldn't say no, but might be better to remember him as he was.  Doesn't look like he has the legs to play the same role he used to.

Albrighton always had excellent delivery. He just needed to fill out a bit, learn to time his tackles better and have a coach who believes in him. He must be close to the end of his contract there now as well.

Ashley Young has been coming in for a bit of stick recently from Yanited's ever loyal fans. But the feeling a few weeks back was he was one of their better performing players. He could still be seen coming to VP for a few years after his move, so maybe it's time for him to come home.    This team needs a bit of mongrel, and I'd say he's perfected that under Mourinho and co.

Kyle Walker
Fabian Delph
James Milner
Gary Cahill

Sturridge is done thanks to injuries. Benteke won't rediscover his form so I wouldn't have him either now.
