With all the injuries and suspensions and illnesses we worked our bollocks off to get that win. Whelan MOM

El Ghazi surely?

He was superb all match, probably the best game he's had.

Agreed.

El Ghazi was superb. But Whelan was just everywhere. For a player of his age to have that much energy and calmness is brilliant to watch. And I’ve been a massive critic of his.

Brilliant second half performance. Whelan unbelievable, how many times did he win the ball back before relieving pressure with the right short pass? El Ghazi was terrific too, thought Davis was excellent, held the ball up with the strength of two Heskeys, while Jedi and Axel imperious at the back. Everybody did well in the second. Thought Bristol were very good too and caused us problems with their pressing and imposing physical presence. 2-1 a fair score for me.

did a lot better than I thought with Jack out so hopefully we have learned to play without some key players

MOTM was their keeper by a margin,  awesome display
2 or 3 unbelievable saves, difference between a tight 2-1 and a thrashing

6 days to next game at Bolton...Mings will be back so hope enough time for Jack and Hause to be fit.

Only other concern today was McGinn picking up another booking...13 now so can only pick up one more (he must be rested as soon as he hits 14).

Whenever a record is insight my Villa record book up until 1988 comes out.

Thanks to whoever provided the small river.  The commentator was about as one-eyed as it gets, the officials were giving everything to Villa and Bristol were hard done by yadda yadda yadda.  Sad twat.  I thought we saw the game out quite professionally again.  Need to stop hitting shots straight at the keeper and we'll be a lot more comfortable.  I reckon a win at Bolton will see the play-offs pretty much secured.

I've never seen us have a winning streak like this before. It's pretty amazing to be honest...
