August 1987 lost 2 nil, went up with a mate on the National Express coach and if my memory serves me right it rained towards the end of the game and i got soaked going back to Digbeth to get the coach home to Cambridge...

1975 2-1 win at Villa Park. Chico and Brian Little.

September the 7th, I think. They had the bloody cheek to score first too. First few minutes if I remember correctly.

The season we won the League (Home Game) . I remember watching Match of the Day later on and Jimmy Hill saying he hadn't seen a derby game played at such a frantic pace.
I also went to Ron Saunders Testimonial game which I think was after that league game ?

Strangely I didn't see a game against them until the away game in the League Cup in 1988.

It was fuckin' horrible. Uber 'nose Pendry in the dug out and that lot celebrating. Sir Graham slammed the team, "more agression in a team of nuns" was the phrase  he used.

My first was '83, waterlogged pitch, McMahon v Blake, sitting in the Trinity paddock and learning the words to the Villa version of Bachelor Boy.

Away leg, Coca Cola Cup 1993. Bosnich saved a penalty and Rico scored late  on for us.

I do remember SGT slaughtering the team in his post match interviews. I think the Small Heath game was his first home game in charge. I don't recall him calling the players nuns but I do recall him saying they played like a bunch of schoolgirls. I strongly suspect he was self censoring himself in the media and that in the dressing room they were being called a hell of a lot worse than nuns and schoolgirls.

As a twelve year old I thought the 1983 game was great. I think Small Heath had started the season slightly better than us and their fans were giving it the big 'un on BRMB on the Friday night before the game. We had just got our first video recorder and I think the first thing I taped was the brief highlights from Central News on the Monday night. The goal, the sending off, Blake's phantom goal he thought he had scored, his penalty miss and his headbutt on McMahon. Ron Saunders fell out big time with Central for showing the Blake/McMahon incident and I think he banned them or tried to ban them from St. Andrew's.

Sept 1968; Small Heath 4, Villa 0.

It was 0-0 after an hour.

03/03/03. Thankfully things eventually got better.

Too young for the cup game in the early 90s.

This abomination

I was 11 and it was the first time I'd ever seen people I didn't know extremely angry up close.  My Dad wasn't best pleased either.
