No one and I mean NO ONE had ever referred to Villa Park as "the park" I suppose it could be an attempt at getting us all to start using the phrase The Park as in "I'll see you at The Park on Saturday" "Will you be going down The Park next week?" etc. But if that is the case I really think they're barking up the wrong tree.
