Changed criteria again

Can no longer pick and  choose unconditionally - need to commit to  15 aways - admin fee lowered to £25

That sounds fairer. It's still basically a tax on away fans but at least means those who attend the most matches will have preference, which is how it should be.

Tend to agree with you Chris but why have such a scheme in the first place.

I agree with you. Sorry, there was a typo in my post, it should make sense now. I don't agree with the charge at all.

I know I am dead against it but not going to have to beg again for the likes of Albion and blues tickets so will join next season’s scheme - the links b en taken down though

How do you join this scheme as I can't find it anywhere?

You can have my ticket for any league games we play at Blose and Albion next season, can't say fairer than that.

I have been a member of the away scheme for many years so will be interested in what is done this year.  Here is an interesting article in relation to what they call a "paywall"  with interestingly only us and Norwich having this system in premier league if we carry it on.

I have sent this link to the ticket office as I would hope they will consider this information in any changes that are made.

Think Villa  are going to be very careful with the away scheme if one continues this year.  Already mini chaos with Walsall and Shrews tickets.

From a club's point of view it is easier to have a scheme.  From supporters  corner there is no need and let the fans who go to most games  get the tickets.

I agree, ww. Rolling criteria, irrespective of season, would sort it.
20 consecutive aways? First dibs.
15/20, hang on a couple of days.
10/20, wait a bit, you'll get one.
And so on. Supporting your team away ritually is different to having a season ticket at home, it shouldn't have arbitrary cut-offs a few weeks into a given season.

Quote
“The club can now confirm plans for our away ticket sales for the upcoming 2019/20 season.

“After consulting extensively with supporters – and also following a benchmarking process with other clubs – we’ve made some changes.

“Under new procedures, in order to be fair, transparent and reward loyalty, away ticket criteria will be based on attendance at previous away games from the 2018/19 season as we also withdraw our away season ticket scheme.

“The new sales criteria will start at season ticket holders who attended 18+ away games last season all the way through to general sale, with 15+, 12+, 9+, Season Ticket Holders and Claret/Cub members in between.

“The first game of the season – away at Tottenham Hotspur – will go on sale next Thursday from 5pm online, subject to allocation and pricing being confirmed in the coming days by the host club.

“We appreciate that while this new policy rewards loyalty, it means that it also potentially makes it difficult for a lot of eager fans to attend big Premier League matches on the road.

“Therefore, 25 pairs of away tickets for each top-flight game will be made available on Pride Rewards for supporters via a Prize Draw, starting with the clash against Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs. Winners of the Prize Draw will then have the opportunity to purchase a pair of tickets.

“We understand that some fans will be disappointed there is no away season ticket scheme for this season but we believe this to be the fairest way to allocate away tickets to supporters who wish to follow us on the road.”
