He may turn out to be crap, but i'm not going to base it on some random on Twitter apparently saying he is.

If he is pants we can sell him to the Noses as Gil Merrick's long lost grandson.

our record of one decent player (Mcginn) out of every 30/40 signings could mean it might be time for another good one on the law of averages

Watching Lyon v Caen in some dodgy sports bar, Caen are wretched and 3-0 down but Guilbert does look decent, they're playing him as a winger though. Very comfortable on the ball and willing to beat the defender.

Admittedly I only watched the first half but I thought he was totally anonymous and barely touched the ball. As you say he was perhaps playing in a more, unfamiliar advanced role, so I won't hold it against him!

Caught a bit of their game last week and remembered we'd signed him, fairly sure he was at left back that much so he's versatile at least.

I love that the first feature of the players Smith looks to sign (or has so far at least) is 'comfortable on the ball'. This makes me so happy.

Just been reading up on him and checking him out on youtube (granted that can mean nothing) but I was pleasantly surprised by what i saw.

Can play Right back or Left back, can use both feet, looks to have an excellent pass on him and good in the tackle.

He was playing every game for Bordeaux at the age of 20 and playing in European competitions so he must have been highly rated young.

Maybe we've unearthed a little gem here.

Being comfortable on the ball is a prerequisite for Deano I expect.

He must be an upgrade on Hutton and with Elmo as back up, that's one problem area sorted.
