Bit late on this but Ty being called up is wonderful news. I do worry since he's injury prone that it increases the chances of him picking up an injury (or aggravating his groin if that's still a niggle after Friday), but I suppose the chances of him playing many international minutes is slim for the moment.......

........right??
Who knows? Southgate pointed out that one big thing in his favour is that he's a left sided defender. It's a bit of a niche position so you never know.

Some news site said Southgate will probably play him as left back as he is missing some and Mings could play there. Yes, take one of the most consistent Left sided centre backs in 2019 and play him as Left Back.....
That's not what i meant. His position is left side of the central pairing no left back.

Sorry, I knew what you meant, only used your post to illustrate other external peoples assumption as left back play is the only reason he was chosen.
Ahh crossed wires lol. It's the usual thing with a villa player. They always go under everyones radar, pundits and fans from other clubs alike. I've a feeling that will change in the near future. I look forward to that day when it will be impossible to ignore our club and our players.

We've had a new guy start at work last week and I was chatting with him yesterday, he's not really a fan of anyone, just likes football in general (or as I suggested he's a Northampton fan but likes watching top-flight football, which he agreed with) and he was asking all about Mings. He said he's only seen him in the play off final and against Spurs but that he couldn't believe that no one else tried to sign him for what looks like a bargain price. I think he's the first non-villa fan I've spoken to who has suggested that. He was asking if we think Mings will stick around for long and seemed genuinely surprised when I said how rich our owners are and how their plans will be far beyond sticking around in the bottom-half of the league. I think I've almost converted him, I reckon I'll have him in a Villa shirt before the end of the season, me being a saints fan in the rugby definitely helped.

He's here, he's there, he's everywhere, he's villa's centre half.

No swearing - He'll love this one.

I wished he wasn't on that list because the only reason he is so high is all the pressure invited on in the last four matches.

I thought Jack was the most fouled player, not McGinn?

He is, but he gets booked when he gets fouled.

McGinn 3.8 fouls ppg
Jack 3.3 fouls ppg

Currently the top 2.
