ah shit, he had 2 overs left and instead of seeing him off we lose 2 wickets in 4 balls, Surrey on top now, we
Hose 21
Lamb 0

190/6
Sibley 73*
Ambrose 0*

and now Ambrose run out 190/7

for fuck sake, totally self-inflicted.

Last time I checked on the BBC site we were 4 down and needed 100 to win.  Just been on hoping to see us making decent progress and only needing a few runs to win.  Instead, saw that we have been bowled out and lost by 74 runs!!

Not been a great couple of days on the cricket front.

Thrown away! I thought we looked favourites at 186/4. Batting is very brittle and the run out is unforgivable. Is Burgess ever going to play?

Losing Hose and Lamb in an over and then Ambrose to a stupid run out in a 10 minute spell fucked us.

Why risk a run out with so much time to have comfortably chased the runs down? Hain isn't scoring decisively at all. Really thought he'd kick on after so much early promise. Hose has had one decent innings. Trott and Bell have been a huge loss. No adequate back up.

Looking at the Bears line-up today at Kent, have we got any recognised seam bowlers who aren't injured? Even Miles is missing having had a decent game against Surrey....

It may change but having very few bowlers on a pitch that's as flat as a street means we're already playing for a draw here, there's just not enough time for us to score the runs to win the game so I'd hope we'll try to bat all day tomorrow and get as many batting points as possible. I know a pitch can be reported if too many wickets fall but does 7 wickets in 2 days of play classify as a shit pitch as well?

Pitches can rightly be reported if too flat.

Be interested to see how the Kent bowlers go on it tomorrow, The Bears injuries have meant we've got a seam attack that wouldn't look out of place in a minor counties game.

1 wicket down this morning with Rhodes going for 109 so Bears go in at 224/1 at lunch.

Sibley has become a phenomenal player and Rhodes has stepped up in the last few matches as well after a poor start to the season. With Giles knowing them both I can see Sibley being part of the England setup soon and Rhodes could easily follow him before long.

Agree, Sibley is some player. Surely he's better than the useless James Vince?

up to 9 wickets for just under 900 runs now, what a spectacle this must be for the fans there.

I imagine the ECB will take action against Kent the same day the Football League punish Small Heath for the Grealish attack.

As of now he's onto 885 runs for the season at an average of 72.75

It's almost at the point where England would be in the wrong to not add him to the ashes squad, particularly given how poor the openers who been given chances have been for years.
