As a guess I’d say Pears won’t be going 4 days vs Lancs - at 38/7 I was happy to see 172! To get them 5 down for 88 can only hope for a session of Manchester cloud in the morning to make it a game

Disappointing performance which reminded me of our division 1 performances last season with batting collapses.  120 nowhere near enough of a lead.

Absolutely, definitely missed a trick not recruiting an opener in winter, Fell is a 4/5 not an opener.  Hopefully by next game Ferguson will be back firing

An encouraging last wicket stand by Hain and OHD. Pity some of the other batsmen can't do likewise. This could be a kickstart for Sam. Hopefully once Bell and Olly Stone are back plus start with Matt Lamb things will get better.

Sounds promising. Our position isn't terminal, especially with only one team down this year, but we need to move quickly to lift the malaise.

Michael Burgess has signed for the Bears from 1st June.

https://warwickshireccc.com/news/bears-sign-wicket-keeper-batsman-burgess-on-two-year-contract/

Sounds more of a white ball signing?

I thought that at first but then I read the article on BBC Sport which suggests that he will play all formats.

There are some great pics on social media of Ian Bell showing SJM around Edgbaston.

My Missus met McGinn today, as she works at Edgbaston. She told him that he'd better win on Monday!

I have another freebie to Gloucestershire today against Lancs. This match has been switched to 'Nam because of the WC games at Bristol.

I work a 15 min walk from the College, so wandered over just before 11 only to find out that some numpty had left part of the wicket uncovered during last night's storm and it's got very wet bang on a length.

Inspections will be carried out during the day but it doesn't sound hopeful.

Therefore I'm back in the office

Currently brilliant sunshine here in 'Nam and they've just abandoned play for the day
