I fear it is going to be an inclement season.

Missed most of this, and all of the Villa game, at a christening. But seems like we are looking a lot more like it. COYB.

A brilliant 161 not out by Sam Hain vs Worcs! A good confidence boosting victory for the Bears! Some good news at last!

Bears eliminated from the Royal London Cup after being defeated by "mighty" Derbyshire! Injured players need to return asap.

Although as they say, a dead rubber against Lancashire today, we chased down a challenging target and up against James Anderson to boot.
Some of these youngsters are stepping up: Alex Thomson, Banks and Mellor all made good contributions. Excellent knock from Sam Hain.

So it looks like Bell, Stone, Hose, Norwell, Thomason, Lamb, Ambrose and now Sam Hain are out injured (Hain batted with Rhodes as his runner last night).
Have I missed anyone??

Henry Brookes missed the game against Lancashire due to discomfort in his back. As he missed half of last season with a stress fracture let’s hope it’s not a recurrence otherwise he’s another name on your list.

That's worrying for Brookes, a seriously promising talent. I hope it's not too bad. We need him and Olly Stone back asap...

Hain is not playing today - I assume another injury to a batsman in good form! Yates in - another youngster? Woakes also not playing.

Didn't make the team unfortunately.

Leics got a very decent 340 all out and Bears are 161/3 after 29 in the chase. Pollock had an electric start before they dragged his rate down but still made a valuable 57 at the top. Sibley and Rhodes got starts but didn't move on so it's currently:

Yates 48*
Banks 12*

Rate is a touch over 8 now so they need to speed it up a touch soon.

Yates run out for 66 - tried to get a 2nd run and the bowler was right in his running line so he couldn't make his ground, from the commentary it wasn't intentional but I think he'll be pretty upset about that one.

185/4 (32/50)
Banks 15*
Thomson 2*

Bears have fallen apart unfortunately.

232/7 with 10 and a bit overs left.

With Woakes and Hain out, I make that about 9 players injured/ unavailable. Shocking injury list.
Having said that, Yates did very well - an unfortunate run-out. Thomson looks a real prospect.
