Poor defeat in the end. We really miss Bell Stone and Woakes. Not at all convinced by some of the batters, Milnes, Sidebottom or Miles at this level. Worrying already.

Taking it to the last hour when we were 121-7 following on suggests that there are some positives to be taken from the defeat. However I think it will be a struggle in red ball cricket this year so it’s fortunate that only one side is relegated this season.

It’s too early to mention the R word (although I just did) but in a division of just 8 teams means that a couple of poor results could be difficult to recover from.

Agree with that Richard, and think it will be a real struggle without the three you mention above.

The bottom line is the team doesn't look as strong as last season and we're playing in a higher League. My gut feeling is the batting isn't strong enough. Desperately need Bell fit, but that won't be until June. Woakes never seems to be fit for us - I think he missed the start of last year's campaign through injury?

Bears 246/6 after 47 overs against Yorkshire. Ambrose doing well. Why is talented all rounder Henry Brookes batting at number 11? Some strange decisions....

Doesn’t look like a great fielding attempt from Warwickshire but hopefully we can get a good start and chase them down. COYB

Shocker against Northants today. A mighty thrashing. Where was Woakes? This season is going to be a long one....

Woakes was pulled out by the ECB. Going to be a really difficult year for what looks a very young team with too many injuries already.

There’s an agreement between the ECB and the Bears that means Woakes can’t play in successive white ball matches. His knee injury must be significantly worse than we realise and given that he’s been one of the most consistent white ball bowlers in recent years I can appreciate why they are managing his workload ahead of the World Cup.

Giles decision to leave wasn't great timing. Letting Barker and Wright go was a big mistake, especially Barker. We should've given him the extra year on his contract. Obviously injuries and Trott's retirement haven't helped. Team is going backwards after a very good season last year.

Whenever ambrose has to bat at four, it's a worry.

It’s going to be a season of consolidation in all forms of cricket but I do fear that we will get relegated in the county championship.

Injuries continue to mount up too, Hose is the latest casualty

A terrible start to the season. Bottom of both tables! Injuries have really affected the team which is relying on too many youngsters, but poor decision making from the management in terms of experience - especially releasing Keith Barker too early.
