Decent performance today. The E&S guy who often reports on us tweeted that he had been very unlucky not to get more playing time under their current manager.

Solid defensively yes but in the modern game you need full backs who can attack at pace and get effective crosses in - Hause like all our full backs can't do this.

AEM actually can but he's been terrible defensively this season.

Really? He's put in a couple of horror shows at this level already for us so don't really think Wolves have missed a trick not playing him instead of Boly, Bennett or Conor Coady.

We need keep playing him at LB with Mings at LCB. Get Chester healthy again at RCB and that lad from Caen hopefully a solid back 4 next season. Add a better, mobile DM and it's a start.

Unfortunately I can’t see Mings being here next season. We’ve no option to buy.

Where has that been confirmed?

Well we mentioned an option to buy when we announced Hause had joined but not when Mings did so it seems a lot less likely there is.

Aston Villa is delighted to announce that Kortney Hause has joined the club on loan until the end of the season with an option of a permanent transfer.

The defender moves to Villa Park from Wolverhampton Wanderers for the remainder of the campaign.

Aston Villa is delighted to confirm the arrival of Tyrone Mings on loan from AFC Bournemouth for the rest of the season.

The 25-year-old has made seven appearances in all competitions for the Cherries so far this term but will link up with Dean Smith’s men for the remainder of 2018/19.

Which is why I said it's a lot less likely. Although common sense says we don't.

We might not have that option but I’m going by the strong statements made by Purslow on more than one occasion now about no longer loaning to benefit other teams. So my assumption would be all of our loans would be set up with that option whether it was publicly announced or not.

It's possible, but then why announce we have an option on two players and not on the other one if we had one?

Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Tom Carroll on loan from Swansea City.

The 26-year-old midfielder will link up with the claret and blues until the end of the season in a deal that also includes an option to buy.

I read somewhere that we had an option to 'match bids' for Mings.

A look online and it was Nursey at The Mirror that said it.

Aston Villa have snapped up Tyrone Mings on loan and teed up a potential summer deal for Bournemouth defender.

Centre-back Mings, 25, who can also play full-back, is joining Villa until the end of the season from the Premier League Cherries.

But Villa have agreed a 'matching clause' in the deal enabling them to meet any rival offers for Mings in the summer.
