I've just read through it all again, some great memories of a great player on there.  I'm privileged to have seen him play.

Sorry to be Mr. Picky, but I think the Good Friday win at Wrexham in 1972, was a 3:00pm kick-off, so not a night match.

The good news is, that Villa's last game of that season was a re-arranged game v. Chesterfield at 7:30...on a Friday night!

Wasn’t that the promotion celebration night with the ground packed? Pretty sure we won and for this schoolboy at the time it was anything but boring.

If memory serves, the was a semi official promotion party later that night at the Top Rank, some of the players being in attendance.

I could have sworn it was 0-0.  Was it the previous season that it ended scoreless?  Who scored btw, I was there but just don't remember us winning.

Ta PWS, now I remember, how it was that I couldn't recall Ian Ross scoring is hard to believe, his goals were a rarity.  I definitely remember the 0-0 just got the timing arse about face.
