Football Arrests
« on: November 15, 2018, 08:01:53 PM »
So last season We had the fifth highest number of arrests. 48 of which 33 per cent were at home.

Top of the table? One guess and no, you don't have to consider attendances, the shit were still way out in front with 95. Sheffield United were second on 62 closely followed by Sunderland 60 and Portsmouth 59.

The Excel spreadsheet goes back the last 4 seasons.

Them
2014-2015  30
2015-2016  63
2016-2017  69
2017-2018  95

Us

2014-2015  48
2015-2016  41
2016-2017  49
2017-2018  48

I wonder what happened in the 2014-2015 Season that suddenly meant they had a crap load more arrests over the next few seasons and we pretty much stayed the same.

All those extra cup finals, especially at the Sty, where you can while away a Sunday afternoon throwing things at the police.

I think Small Heath set a record for football arrests in the early to mid eighties.

And that was just their players.

It’s like a European cup win for them.

How do they manage to top the arrest table when half of their fans are either still stuck in Brugge or trying to find Sherlock Street?

I bet the majority of theirs were at our game at the sty when they all stand on the Cov Road looking hard and throwing things.

Will they put the pdf. in their trophy cabinet next to the ashtray from Barca and the 1983 Atari 6-aside Championship trophy?

I got arrested at football once

at the old Baseball ground circa 76/77
I was standing at the front of the side stand
the terrace ended lower than the pitch so I was eye level with the playing surface with a concrete barrier in front

the Villa fans decided to go on the pitch so the choice was go with them or be crushed
I went on and got rounded up and thrown into a Black Maria

I was 15 and thought I was proper hard sitting with all the hooligans and being booked in at the station

this feeling only lasted until my mum and grandma turned up to take me home
