Scudamore & the Premier League
« on: November 14, 2018, 11:31:12 AM »
I suppose this should go in other football, but thought it might be interesting to a wider audience.

Premier league clubs are being asked to ‘donate’ £250,000.00 each to a kitty so that Richard Scudamore can have a £5m leaving present when he leaves his job.

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

I’m glad we’re not in the PL this season. What a disgraceful request.

Hardly surprising, the figures may be eye-watering to us but re-numeration like this happens all the time in big business, look at the recent bonus issue for the boss of Persimmon.

How much does any one person need to live? It's an age old question and "the richer you are the greedier you become" is equally aged.

An obscene gesture which sums up what the Premier League has done to the beautiful game at the top level in this country during his tenure.

He must have received a bonus for negotiating better deals. I don't see the need for him to get anything extra.

I was thinking similar when I heard this. That money could go to much better use than to someone who dosent really need or deserve it. It's nonsense.

A five million quid leaving present. It sounds like someone has said "forget the engraved watch we will get him Big Ben instead"! Apparently there is a need to reward him for the money he has made for the premier League and it's clubs. A lot of us have made a lot of money for our various employers over the years. Usually the reward is just called 'wages' and if you are lucky a leaving card and a few rounds of drinks.

Always thought he was a snake, one of the first to call football a product. Pat Murphy is giving him and the idea a real slating on Twitter

But did he make the clubs that much richer? In the final shakeout it's the players and agents that got to be richer. Perhaps they should ask the players for a donation.

True, less than a weeks wages for Raheem Sterling apparently. Meanwhile I’ll help clear the dog shit off the pitch before my son’s game on Sunday afternoon.
