I expect a comment from Chris Jameson, at the very least.

Great read.  However, I personally thought Sunderland 4-0 at home was the sit up and take notice fixture in 80-81.

Great piece and I hope that this isn't yet another false dawn.  It seems not, to be fair and with owners such as the ones we have, the only way is up.  The day we caught the train eh?  Let's hope its unstoppable. Things seem a bit, well, exciting.  I am really looking forward to the next few games, as tough as they appear to be, the opposition will be concerned about us for once! (I hope).

You can never change history Dave, but if the money had come through earlier we probably would have had those three players but we would most likely still have Bruce as well because they would have got us there or thereabouts......

I've been round so many corners with villa I'm dizzy.

Great performance with a 4-0 win the day after my birthday, but in the previous home game we’d lost 2-0 to Everton so I don’t think the win over Sunderland was a sit up and take notice result.

Excellent piece.  The money sentence expresses the confirmation that before Dean Smith,,  goalless away from home against in form opposition the manager would have dug in for a fist pump on the final whistle and a point.  Exhilarating stuff after what we have endured for years.  We have to be braced for games when Dean will go for the jugular and lose but I can live with that.

I was betting on a John Terry reference. Chis hasn't been back since this in the Terry thread:

I’m out of here!

I thought it was going to be another interview with a grumpy member of Ocean Colour Scene for a minute. Good read though.

I, for one welcome our new managerial overlord and his complex and well thought out strategy, however I might not be so enthusiastic if we're one up against the rags with five minutes to go and he's piling everyone forward!
