sorry lads not being too pedantic here but i meant the championship

in the olden days football crowds were alot different . most crowds were standing

think our record attendance was 58,000 back in the 50's for example

just looked on google your record attendance was 76,000 in the 40's but i guess that was division 1 back then !

where did they all fit in at villa park -lol

I'll repeat again, Newcastle last season!

I think we can conveniently try to ignore the fact that Newcastle had 50K plus regularly in their season down here.

Geordies aren't cultured enough to appreciate anything other than football. A lot of our lot spend VP Saturdays at the Symphony Hall...

I wonder if the Geordies will average 50k in the Championship next season?

Smith’s post match interview included meaningful tactical analysis and gave the impression he’d actually been at the game. It’ll never catch on.
I was well impressed - and that they'd only worked on not having the ball in training as he saw that as the biggest area for concern - he was right. When they actually get somw coaching WITH the ball -  wow. Can't wait for a few weeks time when they'll be playing the way he wants. Cracking stuff.

They might do the same as the Blackpool fans and stay away in protest of the owner. Ironically they could spend the time taking trips to Blackpool.

Great day out good win and clean sheet I thought Nyland made some brilliant saves happy days and the feel good factor is back at Villa Park long may it continue.

Just watched the highlights again and it really does show how we should have been a mile ahead of Swansea long before it got nervy at the end. Tammy should have had a hattrick and there were a number of good chances for Albert and Jack. We ran out of steam at around the 80th minute but we kept at it. The whole thing was hugely encouraging.

Small improvements yesterday and three points. If we can keep that up that'll do for me

A lot has been made of Swansea chances but if we had turned our first half  total domination into goals  Swansea would have gone in about 3-0 down an totally demoralised. In the first half they offered nothing other than the one save from Nyland in the 40th minute. It was the 1-0 scoreline that offered them encouragement to keep going. Swansea are a good team much much better than Preston and Millwall our last two opponents.

Nyland was better yesterday,  but performed at a level that I would hope a keeper at that level would do.  He made competent saves,  but he was still pushing the ball back into the danger area rather than away to the sides. Also, the last 'save' that some were crediting him with, was Taylor's block.
