Very happy with the win, plenty for Dean to work on, but a win 👍😀

Indeed. Some decent individual performances too. Shame our attack let us down, we really should have finished them off earlier on. Good effort from all and having only had everybody back on Thursday, those are three massive points. Next.

It shows that if you are more positive, you can get results. A lot to work on but so much better.

That smell of fresh air is brilliant.

Eagerly awaiting the Villa manager's post match press conference is a new sensation.

Good effort all round. On the flip side showed just a mess Bruce left in terms of fitness. Nyland first Half looked jittery second half two great saves

Good marker put down by deano taking jack off and McGinn motm

How refreshing to hear our manager talking about whether the lads followed through his instructions! I honestly can’t remember a Villa manager ever doing that!

Well what do you know, played a back 4 in the correct positions and a clean sheet.

Plenty of room for improvements, but nice to see us creating more chances than we normally do.

Saturdays are back!

Until next Tuesday and Friday 😂😂

I wonder how many noses have cancelled their SKY subscriptions complaining it had turned into 'Villa TV'. ;)

The clean sheet is encouraging, but even more so is that fact that we created a hatful of good chances.

This Facebook stream is like being on ketamine.
Hahaha! Are Villa FB streams a gateway to hard drugs?

Well happy with the win! UTV!!

What about actually going to Villa Park?

A relief to win that. Was it our first clean sheet of the season?
McGinn was absolutely stupendous and will be a big miss on Tuesday.
Abraham’s work rate it top, top drawer, and to keep chasing like he did right up until the 94th is a testimony to his fitness, it’s just a shame some of his quality let’s him down.

Onwards and upwards.

just home - if we had played today under Bruce a draw at best so some sign of improvement. I can't decide if Abraham - and to an extend Jack - were simply profligate, or their keeper made some good saves. Either way, a good nerve calming win. Great reception for Dean and applause for Doug.

The manager talking about game plans, traps, coachable players, things he asked them to do, future work on the ball etc. No mention of  rolling up your sleeves and pulling your socks on. That should be a given. Fuck Bruce. A new era has begun.

Avtv was excellent today. Multiple replays and everything! The sound was terrible though it's like listening on a 1930s wireless.

Nyland man of the match.

Thought the subs were spot on too,

Well done Villa!

Couldn’t agree with Deano’s post match analysis more. Solid first half, tired second...a great 3 pts either way.

Some ratings on the starting 11...

Nyland - 7.5 gave away a sloppy corner otherwise this could have been an 8. I think he’ll always make me nervous on the ball but shot stopping is up there with Bozzie

Hutton 6 - industrious but I’d love to see us bring in some more quality on the ball in this area

Tuanzebe 7 - didn’t notice him too much but probably the mark of a competent performance.

Chester 9 - rock solid today. Always in the right place and totally assured with the ball at his feet. Think this performance will have impressed Smith.

Taylor 7 - worked hard, few mistakes. No complaints

BB 8 - tidied up a lot of lose balls very effectively. Benefited from their forward line having a terrible first touch. Apart from one misplaced pass where he tried to be clever he kept things simple and gave a composed performance.

McGinn 8 - end product wasn’t always on point but tenacious presence in the midfield. Started a lot of our good work going forward and was determined to never lose the ball.

Grealish 7 - still fail to see how he would have any impact at Spurs with his performances for us this season. Still an effective no.10 performance for a Championship side.

Elmo 7 - good first half and did well for the goal. Fairy anonymous second.

Albert 5 - lacked any dynamism in his performance for me when you see what we have waiting in the wings to replace him

Tammy 7 - took his goal well, but very sloppy with his ball distribution. Looks a handful for defenders
