McGregor seems like an absolute bellend. Is it an act or is he really a massive twat?

I would say mostly an act.  Boxing and UFC are massively trying to hype every fight.  There was a photo on Twitter earlier this week of Fury and Wilder sitting next to each other having a good chat and smiling, a few minutes later they're shoving each other and calling each other "bitches" etc.

I met him coming home from Vegas in 2015 after he fought there, his entourage took up all the First cabin apart from our 2 seats, they were absolutely charming and complete gentlemen to a man, my wife and I though we were in for a shit journey, within an hour having eaten quietly, had a night cap they were all asleep or reading quietly, not a peep. His minders even carried my wife’s bags for her.
So my impression is off screen so to speak completely normal human beings, game face on, and they act like bell ends.

should ban the two  of them for life.  Talk about bringing  your sport into disrepute.

Honestly, what an utter debacle. Between this and the Jon Jones fiasco the UFC has been very busy discrediting itself recently.

Not a fan of UFC and didn't see the fight, but saw  the aftermath.  No way that guy should getting any kind of title and should have been stripped of it on the night.  Both should be looking at lengthy bans.

Disappointing.

Two of the most technically gifted fighters and it's turned into WWF, or whatever it's called now.

I've never really watched it before but sat through the fight last night.

I'm surprised more damage isn't done (cuts etc) when punching and all the elbows and knees etc. given the gloves they wear. But it's all a bit 'lads having a scrap' isn't it?

Not that bothered really but do think the Medical suspension thing is a good idea.

It's always been WWE. Fighters are obviously pushed based on draw over skill (though the two usually align, if not always - I mean, just look at Lewis-Cormier being announced!), they basically work these angles to keep things tasty and increase buys, all that. Put it this way - in the octagon, it's a sport; out of it, it's pro-wrestling.

It was WWF originally, the World Wrestling Federation, until the World Wildlife Fund made them change it.

Well it was originally WWWF, which was World Wide Wrestling, till Vince McMahon shortened it. Then the pandas got them.

Anyway, at least those guys are honest about the fact they do fiction. The UFC are working everyone at the minute and it's insulting. Getting the 205 belt off DC because they transparently want to get it on Jon Jones as soon as possible is just the latest in a long series of moves which seem designed to devalue the titles.

As I said, I'm really not a fan as it's just a bit too much for me when you see people being continually punched in the face when they are lying prone on the floor.  I just get the feeling that moronic 'trash talking' is a massive part of it and seems to be just as important as the fights, which again is something I find very unappealing.
