Mine are;

David Platt - goals from midfield and leadership qualities.
Ian Taylor - not the most skilful but just an all round ace bloke that could crop up with vital goals.
Dennis Mortimer - need I say anymore.

Controversial as I missed out Sid, but, I just loved IT more as he was from more my era.

I'm just a bit too young to remember seeing Mortimer play, so if I was gonna pick the best 3, I'd go Sid, Platt, and Milner.

From my lifetime Mortimer, Cowans and Platt. Norm Crandles would include Danny Blanchflower and Jack Watts would say Gibson, Talbot and Tate.

Hard to argue with that. From more recent years there might be an argument for Townsend and Milner but probably not in the same league as those three.
