His first start and the good thing is he値l improve from here. An hour or so in his legs up that another 10 mins Saturday and he値l be appproaching full fitness by Xmas.

This is something I'll never understand.

He's been with us since August.  How can it take a professional footballer four months to get to full fitness?!

Ever tried running on a limb where a bone has been broken?

I have as it happens.  Not sure what that's got to do with Yannick Bolasie though.

I知 saying it takes months for tissues to heal properly. Cardio vascular fitness is only part of the recovery process.

I'm glad he's here though, he's well worth the wait. He's a very exciting player.

I agree. But which bone has Bolasie broken?

If you're actually referring to him rupturing his ACL, that was two years ago and it normally takes 12 months to get back to full fitness from that sort of injury.

I was just using a broken bone as an example. I know what an ACL is and how long it takes to recover from tearing one .

You used an example of an injury Bolasie never had to explain why he's not fit?!

I致e already explained. You asked why does it take professional footballers so long to get fit again. I said that it takes more than cardio vascular fitness using a broken bone as an example although I didn稚 suggest YB has broken a bone although you tried to make me look foolish by suggesting I did. What痴 so difficult to understand?

Ok, I'll try it another way.

Just like Bolasie, lots of other players in the squad haven't been injured all year. So how come they're all fit and he isn't?

Who says he痴 not functionally fit? He might lack match fitness, but I知 sure you値l agree that痴 not the same thing. Match fitness only comes with game time.

And another assist. He's played the equivalent of just over 4 games (minutes wise) and has 2 goals, 3 assists and created a number of other chances as well.

He's playing, he's setting up goals and making a contribution. What's the problem?
