Reported today that their new stadium opening is due to be delayed possibly until November.  It seems they have taken up an option to occupy Wembley for an extended period of time.

The issue reported only yesterday was one of public safety, but it is widely speculated that they have known for months the stadium was never going to be ready on time.  This is relevant as apparently there is a rule in the laws that state teams cannot occupy two home grounds during a season otherwise they face a possible points penalty.  Wet Spam and others aren't happy as they were forced to play consecutive games away from home.  Either way it is going to cost Spurs a fortune - makes you wonder if this was a big reason for their lack of activity in the market.  FA as usual changing their rules as they go along.

They will have a problem on October 28th, as Spuds are at home to Man City, but Wembley is already booked for Philadelphia Eagles v Jacksonville Jaguars

They could have a soccer/American football double header. They just have to quickly swap the goals over and repaint the lines on the pitch. Either that or they could just concede the three points seeing as they will lose to Man City anyway.

From what I read it is a relatively minor glitch but very important from a public health and safety point of view. Although they could be just trying to play down the seriousness of the issue.

Fine them 100M and relegate them to the Isthmian League. Replace them with a team that Jack Grealish plays for. Job done.

I don't understand this thing about them not being allowed to use Wembley until their new ground gets the all clear due to some apparent rule about a club not being allowed two home grounds in one season. What about when Arsenal were still playing at Highbury and used Wembley for champions League games and when Charlton started the season at Upton Park before moving back to The Valley when it was ready several weeks into the campaign. Years back when they had the plastic pitch at Loftus Road I recall QPR playing UEFA cup games at Highbury.

Reading some of their forums just to get the fans take on it, they totally blame the club and think it is a shambles and are resigned to having to play the game at either Arsenal or West Ham.   You can imagine how that is going over.

I heard Twickenham mentioned as a possible venue.

And there is more growth in the story that they actually only made one bid for JG and that was the 3 mil and Onomah.

Fucking chancers

We should do the decent thing and let them play at our place for the day.  35m ought to cover it.
