Guessing twice alert

Less than good news this time goes to Newby, Toronto Villa and Caribbeanvillan who all guessed twice during the round a few pages apart, and so got just 1 point.

 Caribbeanvillan guessed a 1 point score both times, Toronto’s first Guess was likewise worth 1 point so neither of you really lost out.
  I am so sorry, Newby, your first guess would have got you 6 if you hadn’t come in again, later.

Note

Towser’s second post was a misplaced guess for the Reading round, which I realised at the time, and it did not affect any scores.

I have held off starting the next GTC round until this one was over, so that we didn’t have three rounds going at once! Please take care, as the rules post says, and only Guess once in a round.

I still think those that get twice should just have their first guess count, though, rather than being punished for a mistake. Not sure if others agree.

If others do agree, fair enough, but then it’s a different game. Everybody could try multiple guesses and the tension and tactical aspect of the game through early/late guessing will have gone.

I prefer one guess with everything riding on it for that round.
I’ve also had to relegate myself (!) and abide by getting only 1 point for double posting, so occasional sanctions seem like an aspect of the game that balance the occasional points bonanza!

I didn't mean allowing multiple guesses per we, just count the first guess and discard any others. Nobody would be playing the system then, I reckon everyone who has ever posted more than once has done so by mistake. I've done it about five times!
