Second best for most of the match but second place in the league. McGinn looks bargain of the century.

A welcome win but a really stodgy, disjointed performance.  What's our style of play? I still have no idea. It's all so laboured. Big high point was a fine debut for McGinn. Loads of industry, some of the best set piece deliveries we've seen in a long while and a few glimpses that Jack may finally have a midfield partner on his wavelength. Onwards and upwards!

Nice one Birkir!  Nice touch by Jack at the end handing that shirt over to that fan.

Thought John McGinn was great: seems to relish playing for us already!

Hope not too many fans "beat the traffic" (© BE) and ended up missing the goal.
Was it our first last-minute winner at VP since Jackie 20 months ago?
I am in a field in Garrotxa trying to recharge my phone and get some internet!

Well that was a typical Steve Bruce win...we mugged Wigan at the death.

Awful decision to play Jedinak as CB, Kodjia was poor and should have been replaced at half-time. Despite his goal, BB was not good enough. AVTV was absolute crap and the ref should hang up his whistle.
Jack was different class and McGinn looked tidy on his debut. I enjoyed RHM's cameo too - hope he stays healthy.

Good question, think that was 87 minutes.

Any statto out there know when was last time we scored a 94th minute winner at home? Maybe Weimann v Fulham?

Again good result but lots to improve still. The worst thing is if you take the same team as today but move the players around a bit I think it would be fine.  Jedi into holding midfield, Elmo to right back, axel into the middle, Green higher up the pitch.

Another sub-par performance but good result.

The positives - McGinn, Grealish, Bjarnason goal.

The negatives - the new goalie was all over the shop, Kodjia was poor beyond belief and the defence was generally rubbish.

Still, 6 goals and 6 points and joint top of the league will do for me!

So why make so many changes, first sort the defense, play centre backs, use Jedi for reassurance to play in front of them.
Jack , McGinn should start every game.
That leaves 3 places to fill from a pretty big pool of resources.
We got away with it today, but this is Steve Bruce.

Last one that was 90 mins plus that I can remember was the Benteke pen vs the bitters.

Indeed, I stand corrected.
