And if that isn't being mooted amongst the Villa hierarchy...

If he's worth that now, think what he'll be worth in a years time.

That only questiion, would be mad to sell him now not just from a team point of view.

There is not a chance in hell we will sell him. It’s not just about market value or a number. John McGinn is the embodiment of all that is great about us right now. He is as much the heart and soul of the team as Jack is. Or Tyrone. He is what we have come to love about this team. He represents intangibles that simply cannot he measured or written on a piece of paper or as a figure next to a pound sign on a cheque. He might not be the best midfielder in the world. Heck he might not be the best midfielder we have at the club. But on and off the pitch he is everything we want in a man Aston Villa player. And I’m sure Dean Smith, Purslow and our owners know that.

Superbly put.

I can’t see him going anywhere yet, the clubs higher up the food chain will be reluctant to pay what we’d want for him, and it would certainly be higher than the fees quoted here, before he’s proved without doubt that he can do it in the PL.

He’s a massive talent when we have the ball and has great energy for when we press, be interesting to see how his positional play without possession develops.

no point talking about how good McGinn is as he’s going to Man Utd £50m

Out of curiosity, just had a peep at the Man Utd message board (redcafe) and the consensus seems to be 'give McGinn one year with Villa in the EPL to see how he does before contemplating 50 million quid'.

In the main they were very complimentary towards him and Jack but acknowledge that Villa are no longer a feeder club and do not need to sell.

Our improved status is not going unnoticed!! Long may it continue.

I do believe Man Utd can fuck right off. We've built a team around players like McGinn.

So do one you has beens.

Once he's proven he can do it in the PL, it will push the price up to silly money with an extra zero on the price.  Be great to offer him a new contract but given he has another three years to run, the club hold the cards on this one.  Every player has a price but I don't see them offering enough to tempt us. I also agree with other than OGS will be out by the end of the season.

For such a successful club Yanoited is just in constant panic mode. We don’t need 50m right now and it would take months worth of scouting to replace the value McGinn brings to the team. We’ve abandoned the concept of leaving important business late and can’t see this happening. I do love laughing at Woodward though.

Once McGinn shows the uneducated Premier League watchers just how good he really is, £50m will be nowhere near enough in our crazy transfer market.
