He gets booked on average once every three games. He'll be fine.

Don't matter, anyway. With or without him, they're all getting battered.

BREAKING: Game against Bolton will go ahead after John McGinn said he'd happily do the work of all police, paramedics and security while also running the Villa midfield. #avfc

Mcginn gets twice as fouled as he fouls but gets cautioned as much as other championship players who dish out more fouls and cautioned more than some players who dish out more fouls!
Something isn't right .
It's up to player himself  also to be aware he's targeted by refs and other players.
All a learning process.

What does this even mean?

It’s in Unwinese. If you look up the works of the late great Professor Stanley Unwin you will soon realise that Footy is just being a little obfuscationary in his syntaxywelds which can give the uninitiated great ganglings in the frontal lobybolds of his brainydido. As soon as you get the hang of it, deep joy will follow.

And also getting booked despite less fouls committed than Bolton players on him!

I might regret this, but what is his message? McGinn has been booked 13 times and...? What? What's the point?

I will regret this but I think his point(s) are:

1) McGinn should try harder not to pick up bookings.
2) Referees should protect Mcginn more, as it is possible some of the bookings he does receive are an indirect result of being fouled constantly and feeling the need to get the offenders back.

Which all pisstaking aside are pretty valid points.

I think the 2nd point is much bigger, between them Jack and McGinn get fouled, on average, 7.5 times a game and in a lot of games it's the 5th or 6th foul on them before the ref takes any action and McGinn seems to, sometimes, take things into his own hands. Loads of his yellow cards have been for the only foul he committed all game. The worst thing is, thinking back, I can't remember more than 2-3 genuinely bad tackles from McGinn, there have been a couple of 'taking one for the team' fouls and 1-2 he's kleft a foot in but most of them are just a bit late and not much more.

Another who shouldn’t play past the Millwall game until the playoffs

Would play them v Leeds, vital if Leeds are going to end up in play offs now we go up there with our best 11 and give them something to think about.

Give them all a rest v Norwich.
