Always liked Hibs best in Scotland as it was too easy to go for Celtic. I’d love it if we adopted/nicked/shared Sunshine On Leith as an anthem (Liverpool and Celtic both do You’ll Never Walk Alone). It’s a great moving song and the words are very appropriate (in the main).

I don't think it would work Mal.  Leith is Leith.  We need something like Sunshine on Saltley or Helianthus in Harborne.

We could have a summer and a winter song. A Scorcher In Aston and Wet In Witton. Or maybe even Pissing Down In Perry Barr.

The Hibs Final against the Glasgow Branch of the EDL was fucking ace.

If McGinn can help end a 114 year drought, our 62 year drought should be a piece of piss.

I was trying to think who John McGinn reminded me of and it finally clicked. His name reminded me of John McGinley, Bolton's striker from their mid nineties cup runs.

Yeah, that’s the bit I meant when I said in the main. Pity it’s the central part of the song!

I was just thinking we could overlook that! Or even sing “sunshine on me” for that part?

Pat Nevin's just given a glowing endorsement of McGinn on 5 Live, declaring him one of the signings of the summer. He reckons he's one of only two Scottish Prem players who would walk into an English Premier League side, never mind a Championship one (Tierney being the other? I think that's who he said, never heard of him but I'm guessing he plays for Celtic). He says he's brilliant and it's a great bit of business from Villa. Nice to hear. Hope he's right.

I was going to suggest 'Begin the McGinn' but Julio Iglesias numbers don't lend themselves to rousing terrace anthems.

I love that youtube clip after the cup final of the Hibs fans singing that.  Awesome.

Ever since I have wanted to get up there for the Edinburgh derby.  I think Pat Nevin said it is the most atmospheric derby in football. He's played in the liverpool and london derbies, so knows a thing or two.

Massively impressed by him. Reminds me of Birchy.
