I was literally screaming at Smith (from the comfort of my living room) to take McGinn off after that booking.  It was a purely down to a massive slice of luck and probably forgetfulness that he didn't get a second yellow for the handball.

Two yellows leading to a red would have only been a one match ban wouldn’t it? Back for the playoffs.

Ordinarily, yes, but that would have given him 15 yellows in total leading to the three match ban, ie out for the Norwich game and the first two play off games.

cumulative with the red as well, so out for the final too.

I think it would have been a 4 match ban for the Red plus 15 yellows

It was ridiculous he was on the pitch

Anybody on the outside would think he’s a dirty bastard.

Only one or two of his bookings have been daft.

Are yellow cards reset for the play offs? If he picks up a booking in the first leg that doesn't mean he's out for the 2nd leg and potential final does it?

Can only a red card at some stage of the 2 legs prevent anyone missing the final now?

Another yellow card and he misses next season.

I'm fairly sure that the bookings (14) only applied up until the end of games today and then they are forgotten forever.

I think the play offs carry their own system where 2 bookings in the semi-final would see a player miss the final.

Then, next season, everybody starts on an even keel with 0 bookings.

If thats the case id be surprised if McGinn even made the final then should we get there.

Can you see him not picking up a booking in both games again Albion?

You wouldn't want to take anything away from his game because he has been immense but 14 bookings is way too many.

Do the club fine players for receiving bookings or reaching certain number of bookings?

In the extremely soft world of football I bet 1 maybe 2 were deserving of bookings.

Absolutely. My question still stands though, and I'd imagine any fine process would take into consideration unfair or incorrectly awarded bookings.

As far as I understand it there is no review process for yellow cards.
