He was on the bench, so would think not.

With that said, I'm glad he got a rest.

In fairness, he hasn't ever really shown the same sort of form he does for Scotland that he does for us. Hopefully he will improve now he is no longer managed by a dinosaur at international level.

I'm in a pub in Edinburgh. Women's semi is on the telly. Five blokes next to us pipe up when I applaud our frankly superb third. Not Hibs, but Glasgow lads, out of towners, bit like meself. One was at Wembley in May, for one reason only. Paisley boy, they fookin luv 'im.

Find yourself a woman who looks at you like McGinn looks at Jack.
You’ll die a happy man.

Alan Nixon in The Scottish Scum

Quote
MANCHESTER UNITED are set to launch a sensational bid for John McGinn that would smash the transfer record for a Scot.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer  wants the midfielder to add the energy he says his side are missing.

But Villa claim it’ll take a monster £50MILLION fee to prise him away from the Midlands.

United have been making background checks on McGinn in the past few days ahead of submitting an opening offer.

The 24-year-old has made a dramatic impact at Villa since then joining for a bargain £2.75m from Hibs a year ago.

If Solskjaer can strike a deal, any potential fee would be sure to eclipse the previous record deal for a Scot, Oli Burke’s £15m move to RB Leipzig.

And Hibernian would also be quids in thanks to a sell-on clause included in last year’s deal.

Villa rate McGinn so highly they are already plotting to fend off United’s interest by offering a new long-term contract.

Players and fans voted him their Player of the Year — ahead of Holte End hero Jack Grealish — before the Scotland international scored in the play-off final win over Derby County that clinched the club’s return to the Premier League.

United, though, are clearly in the mood to spend big after shelling out a staggering £50m to secure Aaron Wan-Bissaka away from Crystal Palace.

Bollocks to that. Fifty million's just bought them a full-back, if they want an entire engine room they'll have to quadruple it and throw in a few players. Alternatively they can fuck off.

Just read the story in the The Sun

50 million for a player who has played in Scotland and the Championship is madness

£50 million plus Tuzanabe plus Rashford wouldn't buy McGinn

Last night, I placed two pub wagers. One, a tenner against someone that reckoned we'd go straight back down. The other, twenny 'oles, that we'd finish within 3 places of manu. I had to add in the stipulation that I wouldn't be forking out when we finish 4 places above them.

Agreed. They just paid that for a full back. At minimum £75m

You’d hope we’d get at least a season of him in the Premier League.
