I went to watch the U18s yesterday morning at Bodymore.  We beat Fulham 2-0.
Now the club in its wisdom have stopped supplying Team Sheets so as it was the first game of the season and as we have a new crop of U18s I am not sure exactly who was playing except for a few I have seen before.

Last season we struggled as the Team consisted of players who were U17s mainly.  This season we might do a bit better as we are mainly U18s.  The Team played some lovely football with Lewis Brunt outstanding in midfield.
Big centre forward who I think is Sea headed our first goal and we scored a second goal from a substitute who did very well when He came on.
I liked the GK who is massive and the big Centre Back.  Jake Walker, Indianna Vaselev, Jay Ramsey and Lewis Brunt were very good in midfield and Sea and Tait were good up front.
Walker, Ramsey and Brunt might be three players to keep an eye on for the future.

Mitch Clark gone on loan to Port Vale. Was apparently MOTM for them on debut.

Think he's got a decent chance of making it.

I haven't seen a lot of Colin as I missed a few games after an op last year. I saw him maybe 4 times and I might be imagining it, but he looked a bit "heavy" on Saturday.
We play Reading U18s tomorrow and I will have another look at him if He plays.
The big Centre back was Ethan Patterson who I did see last year, pretty good player.
Probably only watch an hour as I have to get to the first team game.

I am looking forward to watching Lewis Brunt again.  Very tall but slight midfield player with a nice range of passing and good touch.  He is also very quick.

Finished 2-1 to Villa.  An own goal from Fulham's Skipper and a goal from Sub Jordan Cox won it for us.
Sarkic made a bad mistake for Fulham's equaliser.

Team was :
Sarkic.
Walker - Bedau - Bazely-Graham - Revan
Lyden - Doyle-Hayes - Clarke
O'Hare - Mooney - Knibbs

Youth Team beat Reading on Saturday 4-2. Goals from Ramsey 2, Tait and Sea.

You can watch the under 23 game on YouTube

I watched about 20 mins. Fulham looked a fair bit better than us but obviously a good result

Didn't think anyone looked first team ready. O'Hare is obviously coming back from injury so harsh to judge him. Though I see he was again written up by the Mail as a shining light, which did make me wonder about all the other times I read he was outstanding. He was disappointing when I saw him two or three times at the end of last season

Did play well in the first cup game last year tho. Needs a loan for me. Can't see him troubling the first team anytime soon.

Yep - Dimitri - signed Summer 17. Hopefully, in the future, we will hear the Holte chant "Dmitri, Dimitri, give us a wave!"  ;D ;D

" Bertrand Rebours is the technical director of Athletic Club Boulogne-Billancourt [ACBB] – the largest amateur club in France with over 1500 members – and attended an under-13 tournament six years ago hoping to bag himself a couple of young talents to be developed within his academy, but one boy shined brightest. Speaking exclusively to the Birmingham Mail, Rebours said: "He was much smaller than the others but I was immediately attracted by his qualities of speed to reach the goal and his collective intelligence.

"I thought he was 12 and it was not bad. Upon seeing his educator he told me he was only 10 years old and he was upgraded. So it became a priority for me. Rebours explained: "I believe that all the French professional clubs have spotted Dimitri in match but none followed after a three day or a week trial with their players. They did not understand that Dimitri is raw and must be seen in competition. He's not a training player, he's a match killer.

"He has a spontaneous technique, he goes fast, he jumps up, very good head play, an incredible strike and an impressive collective sense.

"When you have Dimitri in your team you know you can win at any time. He is a rare scorer, he just needs a ball to find the net.

I’m more concerned we have a player called Tait.

Shore we do.

Did he come through the academy or did we have to shell out for him?
