Which was the year we all sang "Down With The Villa" and the thick Manc twats did not get it?  They thought we had been converted to Red Filth.  My boys and I went as Roman soldiers.

A Land Rover load of us went to Old Trafford as 'The God Squad' once around Christmas time 1990. We drew
1-1. I went as a nun and I seem to recall we also had a monk and a couple of priests in our gang. We were blasting out MC Hammer's 'Pray' on the way. Unfortunately there was no other costume of that type for our last mate to choose. So if anyone who was at that game remembers a monk, a nun and two priests being rather bizarrely accompanied by 'The Hoffmeister Bear', that was us.

New years day 1977, lost 2.0
4 of us went by car, how conspicuous are 4 guys together with not a spot of red between them.
Split up into pairs, keep your head down. It almost worked.
After the game walking back to the car minding my own business, until Melvin came running past and grabbed me shouting, " they are after us"
It pains me to say that like Peter did to our Lord, I denied Melvin.
Not that it helped, attention was drawn, with a whack across my head from that years must have fashion item, a black Brolly. I was off.
for good Measure a few swung punches and loose kicks made sure that my start to 1977 was an energetic one.
Ahh Mancs plastic or otherwise don't you just love them.

if that was the match where Steve Coppell scored (can’t be bothered to look it up) I was also there with my Reds supporting family and Cousin
stood in the Stretford end safe as houses

I do remember them all singing ‘there’s only one team in Europe’ at that ‘90 game I think.  Only we all were looking at each other bemused thinking they were singing ‘there’s only one Timmy Mallet.’

We did the 1-1 when sid scored and the 2 - 0 the the next season. Fogg like soup for the first one and I'm sure tarzan gave us a song when we were kept behind after the game. For the 2-0 we had hired a car from a place in Erdington for the original Saturday date but got to kingstanding and had a bump so took the hire car back, we didn't know the game had been called off till after. They are a self promoting bunch of cnts, there fans are always the bloke you would avoid at work because you've sussed out he would stab you in the back at the sanrme time as pretending to be your friend. I don't mind man city at all, good luck to them.

Chelsea having a two year transfer embargo would be very funny.

Turned on the Wayne Rooney testimonial game just in time to see Guzan pass the ball to an England player on the edge of his own area.  Brought back some terrible memories.

It’s the first time I’ve ever seen rooney smile while being in an england shirt. He’s not had a go at the fans yet either.

I am so pleased his fabulous contribution to his country, winning two world cups and two European championships all on his own, has been appropriately recognised. #GodBlessWayne

It’s very similar to what the FA did to honour Bobby Moore...

We had lost 3-2 to Inter. They had beaten Wrexham - IIRC

Croatia beat Spain and now it's winner takes all in last group game (or Spain through in the event of a draw). This Nations League lark has got interesting.

I watched the second half of Croatia vs Spain, and it was a cracker. The fact it wasn’t a completely meaningless friendly really seemed to make a difference as both teams were really going for it.

Sets things up nicely for Sunday at Wembley now.

The Nations League confuses me. To the best of my understanding we need three falls and one submission to gain the right to throw a six and avoid a snake then go up a ladder. In the event of two teams being level on all of those it will then be decided on the Duckworth-Lewis-Numberwang method.
