So this "full house under the lights " championed by Monk and Midlands Today mustered 22,715.
Such drawing power.

So about 18,000 blues there for a local derby.   4,000 yam yams.  Who would have thought they could get on a bus.  ?

Small Heath exactly the same as when they played Swansea; actually playing ok but dreadful up front and not a decent striker on their books. Jota head and shoulders their best player, nobody else of note.

Albion the opposite; didn't do much but do look dangerous going forward but their defence is shocking and all over the place. Hegazi is awful. They will score plenty but let plenty in aswell.

I always watch games like that and think "surely we're better than these" and then we'll go and lose 6-0 at Blackburn.

Don't call them 'yam yams'.

That suggests they are so good they named them twice. Just call them 'yams'.

My only connection to Milton Keynes is that I have visited there once in 1990 to see David Bowie at Milton Keynes Bowl on his 'Sound And Vision Tour'.

I saw him there in 83
Serious moonlight tour I think it was called

Yes, Serious Moonlight was the '83 tour. I saw him first at Wembley and then Maine Road on the Glass Spider tour in 1987, then at Milton Keynes Bowl and Maine Road on the Sound & Vision tour in 1990. I then saw him at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert 1992 and at the NEC on his last tour, The Reality Tour in 2003 or 2004.

I live near MK so I have seen loads of bands at the bowl down years in the 80's and 90's
Simple Minds, U2, Michael Jackson, Marilion, Bowie, Status Quo and in more recents years Green Day and Eminem

the only one I ever actually paid to get in was Eminem I was to old to sneak in by then

the Bowl was and still is a great ampi theatre venue but it's just used for car boot sales now and motor bike training

Same here John.  Grew up in MK itself, and my best mate lived in an estate near by, Shenley Lodge, so knew all the best spots to get in.  Was at most of the bands you mention, sadly.

and as if by magic, Rod Stewart announces he will be performing there next summer

do you fancy trying to sneak in with me again for old times sake

I don't want to talk about it. You might get away with it though. Some guys have all the luck.
