He was very highly rated when we signed him and it looked a great bit of business to get him, I seem to remember him being continually injured though and not very good when he did play. He was a pretty firm tackler mind.

Yes just checked, it sounds rather suspicious to say the least, RIP Neale.

Only 54. That is very sad. I remember him as a no nonsense tough tackler. Opposition supporters would probably reword that.

Not been a good couple of years for ex-Villa players.  RIP Neale.  Very sad indeed.

Only played about about a dozen games for us but very sad news. Highly rated when we signed him but struck with constant injury problems.

RIP Neale.

He sat next to me on the steps Swindon away, the day we got promoted.

I remember us signing him which at the time seemed a big coup. Such a shame.

RIP Neale
I recall signing him for a decent fee at the time circa £200K-£300K
He had trouble settling and I think he was burgled at one point - he was prone to serious injuries and later in his career he piled on the weight
I will remember his blonde curly locks !!!
Very sad to lose another ex player so very young

RIP Neale.  From an era when defenders were no nonsense, and erm...shorts were short

Loved that Henson shirt as well.

RIP Neale.
Signed from Aberdeen, wasn't up to the challenge but a really hard tackler, a lovely, funny bloke by all accounts, remember his blond curly locks.
