The following season it included all home cup games so all the European Cup games were free for ST holders.

Glory hunter

I was fortunate enough to start going down villa park in 70/71. It meant I got to follow us through one of the most exciting periods of our recent history. 80/81 was the first season I had a season ticket though, before that my dad used to slip the turnstile operator a coin and lift me over the barrier.

You witnessed our turnaround which took many years. I think we are in a similar place all these years on, we’ll get there but goodness knows when.

I started going as a nine year old in 1979 so my timing was pretty good too.

I thought it was a young John Denver.

Same for me. First ever ST was 80/81 because my dad let me go on my own with mates for the first time. Very lucky
