Brian Moore 'oh it must be and is? but there was other games. Against Everton 89' they can't believe it on the terraces but they are celebrating it none the less.

Barry Davis 'Daley it's still Daley' against wba 1990. Can't remember any quotes but he worked on the Sunderland home game in, 81.

John Moston 'and the Villa fans are roaring again' v Arsenal day we won the league. The 4-3 against wba 83 'where's it going to all end'

Gerald Sinstadt Cant remember any game but narrated the BBC Ofifical Aston Villa history video brilliantly.

Hugh Johns WITHE.! Morley! Little there it is

John Cole man 'through to mortimer whose on side!

Tony Gubba miserable commentator only the Southampton at home game in 81 comes to mind.

Huge 'Onds. Always. The only time someone describes the action as you fall hopelessly in love.

Forgot to mention bout Barry Davies, his voice covered our 3rd division days more than most other TV commentators.

Definitely 'One nothing' Hugh John's, takes me back to the smell of Sunday roasts in the 70s/early 80s at home!!  "Ooh how did that not go in" as Dynamo Berlin hit the post at Villa Park in 1981!

And Brian Moore (along with Cloughie) and their unashamed bias towards us in Rotterdam, perhaps not a classic match to a neutral but I must have seen the whole game about 50 times and even know the commentary.

Yes, thinking about it. He did the Super Cup second leg as well IIRC.

Hugh Johns and Star Soccer. Not just for his Villa commentaries but his Midlands work in general. 'Big Peter Withe', 'Sid Cowans', 'Pop Robson', 'Big Larry Lloyd', 'Wee Archie Gemmill'. He was also the forgotten commentator of the 1966 World Cup final on ITV as people only remember Kenneth Wolstenholme's famous words on the BBC. Obviously George Gavin's radio work for BRMB, particularly from 1980 to 1982 as well.
