E-Ticket Printing/Mobiles
« on: May 11, 2018, 12:12:22 PM »
Quick question.... I know they say I should print my ticket, but does anyone know if I can just bring it up on my mobile and wave that at the scanner instead? Seems like a waste of paper and more inconvenient.

I've done the mobile thing for gigs etc so figured it should work.

No - the scanners are an insert type (Card and paper have to be put in a slot)

In TR you have to insert the ticket to be scanned so it wouldn’t work with a phone

I don't know if you can wave anything at the scanner, it has to be inserted. I suspect a phone would be too fat to fit, even if it could read the details.

Insertion is always the better option. Rather than just waving it around outside.

Somebody always lowers the tone of a serious debate.

I have actually seen someone try to get access with their phone.Problem was I was stuck behind the guy , for what seemed like an age.The turnstile operator did let him in , so maybe it does work.I'd print it off though !

So I printed the ticket. And then tried my phone.

Phone worked no problem as the gap is plenty big enough.

Thanks for the confirmation. Again, H&V proves more useful than the OS! Paul in the ticket office said it works on your phone, and a cursory evaluation of the card slot last saturday seemed to back him up, but there's always that nagging doubt which no amount of internetting can eradicate.

I'll be able to sleep now.

A few matches ago going into the Holte I was told yes, but not with eg an iPhone or anything built for smart pay.
A steward had earlier helped a lad by taking a pic of the phone with his own phone to help him in, but said it didn’t work as he was scamming.
Either way I took a pic of my phone with my work phone and used that, though imagine putting it in flight mode might also have worked?
